Ricardo D’Alva Moves Into Under-18 Men’s Premier Head Coach Role

City of Birmingham Rockets are pleased to announce that Ricardo D’Alva will remain as part of the coaching setup at the club as he takes on the role of Under-18 Men’s Premier Head Coach for the 2022/23 season.

Coach Ricardo enjoyed a successful season in 2021/22, leading our Under-16 Boys Premier to the playoffs and we are delighted that he will be continuing to coach for the club.

Speaking ahead of his appointment, Ricardo said,

“I’m very happy that the club trusts me for this position.

I’m looking forward to helping the players to become better mentally, physically and technically throughout the course of the season.

I will be looking to implement a high-tempo system and am looking forward to play against the best players and academies in the country, whilst becoming a better coach, and I’m excited for the challenge ahead”.

Technical Director, Paul Douglas, is looking forward to seeing Ricardo’s development in the coming season.

He said,

“Ricardo’s move to the Under-18 Men’s Premier Head Coach position is to see him continue the excellent development of players, a trait which impressed us greatly last year.

“The premier squad is very talented this year and Ricardo’s relationship with the players moving up, plus his attention to detail, means we are very excited to see what this squad can achieve this season“.

We would like to wish Coach Ricardo the very best of luck in his new role – stay tuned to our channels for one more exciting coaching announcement later today!
