Performance

Rockets 2020/21 Junior Performance Programme will include our team’s from Under 12 through until Under 18

Our male and female teams will compete in Junior National League competitions at Premier and Regional levels with weekly games against the top teams in the country.

The Performance Pathway supports players and coaches from the age of 12 with our representative teams competing in elite competition and builds on the foundation stages that we operate up until that point. Increased commitment, work ethic, high ability levels and potential to develop and learn are all factors considered by the coaches as we develop players up to the age of 16.

Our successful player development programme is designed to follow long term athlete development strategies and ensure each individual player is supported to realise his/ her full potential on and off the basketball court. In addition to an elite level coaching programme, players selected to the programme will gain access to our support services consisting of weekly strength and conditioning, sports psychology, performance analysis, video analysis and physiotherapy support.

Rockets post 16 strategy includes our Academy Programmes situated at Broadway Academy and The 6th Form College, Solihull. Here players will learn to become student athletes and receive 12-15 hours per week of basketball support alongside their academic studies. Click HERE for further details on our Academy Programmes.

The infographic here shows the pathway opportunities for players in the 16-19 age bracket. Our comprehensive programme includes an exit support strategy to help students upon leaving college or 6th form education by providing the necessary guidance for the next part of their basketball and academic journey.

We also aim to develop elite level coaches through our Rockets Coaching Mentorship Programme. Our coaches follow our club protocol of coaching and work towards our player development programme to ensure a consistency across the club.
