Match Preview: City of Birmingham Rockets vs Myerscough Basketball Academy

Our Men’s First Team travel to Lancashire this Sunday to take on Myerscough as we look to bounce back after a defeat to Encon Derbyshire Arrows last time out.

Rockets are set to be without a cohort of key players for the game, whilst Assistant Coach Dominic Short is again set to lead the team as Coach Paul Douglas continues his recovery.

Rockets’ Recent Form

Rockets have recently been on a good run, with three wins from four games including big wins against Bristol Flyers and Bristol Hurricanes lifting us up to the top half of the table.

However, defeat last week to Encon Derbyshire Arrows dented our form and ended our winning streak as we struggled to compete for large sections.

We’ll be hoping to bounce back this weekend against Myerscough and go for three wins from four, as we look to go be in good form going into the Christmas period and our final game of the year against Team Birmingham in Longbridge.

The Opposition

Myerscough are on a mixed run of form, having narrowly beaten Charnwood Riders and thrashed Nottingham University Hoods in the last month while also losing 98-97 to Northamptonshire Titans and to Manchester Magic last weekend.

They sit fifth in the division, ahead of us only on points difference although they have played two fewer games with a record of four wins and three defeats so far this season.

Around The League

It’s a full fixture list for the rest of the league, with all other teams in action, including two each for Northamptonshire Titans and Charnwood Riders.

On Saturday, Bristol Academy Flyers take on Doncaster Eagles while Team Birmingham Elite host Manchester Magic. Northampton play away at Nottingham University Hoods while University of Chester host Charnwood.

On Sunday, Bristol Hurricanes make the trip north to play Encon Derbyshire Arrows before Northamptonshire Titans host Charnwood Riders.
