Birmingham Rockets are pleased to announce the return of Lucas McGregor ahead of the 2025/26 British Championship Basketball (BCB) season.
The story so far…
Lucas joined the club last summer from Irish Super League outfit Flexachem Killorglin.
Before moving to the south of Ireland, Lucas made a name for himself at Worcester Wolves after originally coming through the ranks at Shropshire Warriors.
Lucas led Worcester to promotion to NBL Division Two before leading the Wolves to third place and a playoff spot ahead of his move to Ireland.

Last season at Rockets
Lucas played in all 24 league games for Rockets last season, starting on fourteen occasions as the team missed out on the playoffs by one game.
He recorded 9.6 points per game, 2.6 assists per game and 3.7 rebounds per game.
His best performance of the season came at Utilita Arena Birmingham in January, with Lucas scoring 22 points and grabbing 12 rebounds as Rockets fell to a narrow defeat.
He was also instrumental in our 94-82 away victory against Bradford last season, leading Rockets in scoring with 21 and adding four assists as we returned back to Birmingham with an important win back in November 2024.

Excited to be back!
We caught up with Lucas for his thoughts ahead of the new season.
“I’m really excited to be joining back with the Rockets and competing in the new BCB league,” he said.
“I have confidence in this team to push forward where we left off last year and I’m excited to see the fans and carry their support throughout the season – it’s gonna be fun!”
Welcome back, Lucas!
