Basketball fans are set for an exciting new chapter as the BCB Trophy officially tips off for the 2025/26 season.
This brand-new competition will bring together 14 top BCB teams in a group-stage and knockout battle for silverware, with the added thrill of two invited teams from Scotland – the Edinburgh Blaze and the Falkirk Fury – making it a truly cross-border showcase of British basketball talent.
The action begins with a special opening game as the Reading Rockets face the Worthing Thunder on Sunday 14th September at 4pm.
All remaining group games will then take place by 28th September.
The top two teams from each group of four will progress to the Quarter Finals, with the group winners earning home court advantage. The Quarter Finals will be completed by 5th October, setting up the path to the semi-finals and eventual crowning of the inaugural BCB Trophy champions in 2026.
BCB Chair, Russell Bell, welcomed the new teams to the BCB competition, saying: “We’re also proud to welcome our Scottish friends, Edinburgh Blaze and Falkirk Fury, who will bring fantastic energy and talent to the competition. The BCB Trophy creates more opportunities for players to compete at a high standard, while giving fans an exciting, fast-paced tournament to enjoy.”
Birmingham Rockets Chief Executive, Robert Palmer, said: “We are extremely excited to tip-off the new season in the new look BCB Trophy competition.
“Our coaching staff and players are ready to hit the season running and can’t wait to get back playing in front of our home support!
“We are pleased to advise that all home BCB Tophy games are included with our 2025/26 season tickets this year!”
