City of Birmingham Rockets are thrilled to announce that Orlan Jackman has officially re-signed ahead of the 2026/27 season, with the veteran forward also being appointed as team captain.
A Proven Championship Pedigree
Jackman returns to lead the Rockets with one of the most decorated resumes in British basketball. His crowning international achievement came right here in our city, starring for Team England to capture the 3×3 Basketball Gold Medal at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Beyond his international success, Jackman brings an elite level of experience across top-tier European leagues, NBL Division 1, and the former British Basketball League (BBL) having represented several high-profile clubs throughout his career:

BBL & Overseas: London Lions, Newcastle Eagles, Worcester Wolves, Cheshire Phoenix, London City Royals, CAB Madeira (Portugal) and Iserlohn Kangaroos (Germany).

Division 1/BCB: Solent Kestrels, Worthing Thunder, Essex & Hertfordshire Leopards and Manchester Magic.
Since arriving in Birmingham, “OJ” has been a standout performer in British Championship Basketball (BCB), consistently delivering double-double displays while serving as a vital anchor in the locker room.
Orlan Jackman on re-signing and taking on the captaincy:
