City of Birmingham Rockets are delighted to welcome back experienced guard Jordan Dawes ahead of the 2026/27 BCB season following an extended spell on the sidelines due to injury.
Dawes, who has been a cornerstone of the Rockets setup since returning to the club in 2021, makes his long-awaited return to contention ahead of the upcoming British Championship Basketball (BCB) season.
Having progressed through the Rockets junior pathway from the age of 14 before gaining valuable experience across the NBL, British Basketball League (BBL) and UK Armed Forces Basketball during his service as a Royal Marine, Dawes’ connection to the club runs deep.
Known for his defensive tenacity, high basketball IQ and clutch scoring, his absence on the floor has been felt by squad and supporters alike during his rehabilitation.
“I’m here to do whatever it takes to help this team win”
After months of dedicated rehabilitation and work behind the scenes, Dawes is ready to step back onto the court at the NWC.
“I’m really excited to be back home! The last couple of years have been the most challenging of my career, so being healthy and ready to compete again means a lot.
“I’ve always prided myself on being a great teammate, a leader within the group, alongside being a fierce competitor.
“Ultimately, I’m here to do whatever it takes to help this team win and I’m looking forward to playing my part in what we want to achieve this season!”
“He Fought Through It All For This Moment!”
Head Coach Charles Smith has praised Dawes’ professionalism throughout his recovery process and is looking forward to seeing him on court once again.
“I’m incredibly proud to confirm the return of Jordan Dawes after a year away through injury.
“Jordan’s journey back to the court has been nothing short of inspiring. His determination, resilience, and unwavering commitment to this club are a testament to his character.
“Through Rehab, Doubt, and Setbacks, He fought through it all. For this club. For this moment.
“Welcome back Jordan!”
