Our Women are looking for their first win of the season when they take on Derbyshire trailblazers on Saturday afternoon.
Despite a good performance against Team Birmingham two weeks ago that saw us level at the end of the first two quarters and leading for large parts, we ultimately were not able to take home the points as we fell away in the final quarter.
However, Coach Peter Mintoft’s Women will be bolstered by the return of top scorer Michelle Turner, who was absent for the clash in Longbridge a fortnight ago and whose return will give hope to Rockets of a first league win.
The Opposition
Our opposition tomorrow are Derby Trailblazers, who sit 6th in the table after four games played. After a difficult start to the season, which included a heaven defeat to Manchester Mystics in mid-October, they’ve since bounced back, beating University of Nottingham Wildcats by 16 points 3 weeks ago.
They should prove a good challenge for Rockets on Saturday as Derby look to climb further up the table.
