City of Birmingham Rockets are delighted to announce the marquee signing of 6’8” power forward/center Daniel Edozie ahead of the 2026/27 British Championship Basketball (BCB) campaign.
Edozie brings elite painted-area presence, rebounding tenacity and top-flight leadership to Head Coach Charles Smith’s squad as Rockets look to build on last season’s trophy success.
A Proven Frontcourt Force
A former NCAA Division I athlete with Iowa State, Edozie established himself as one of British basketball’s premier interior anchors during a six-year tenure with the Bristol Flyers. During his top-flight spell in Bristol, he captained the side and set BBL-era franchise records as the club’s all-time leader in scoring (1,338 points) and rebounding (1,326 rebounds), while leading the entire league in rebounding during his debut campaign (10.9 RPG).
Most recently, Edozie captained the Bristol Hurricanes, earning NBL Division Two Player of the Year honors before guiding the franchise through its transition into senior national competition. Renowned for his physical rim protection and double-double reliability, Edozie’s arrival adds toughness and veteran know-how to Coach Smith’s front court.

“I had a good conversation with Coach Smith and it was something I was definitely attracted to.
“I am ready to play, I am excited and looking to do well with the guys this season and gel as a team and hopefully we smash this season out of the park!”
“Daniel Has Been There and Done It”
“I’m thrilled to welcome Daniel Edozie to the squad.
