Birmingham Rockets Announce West Midlands Railway as Official Rail Partner for 2026/27 Season

City of Birmingham Rockets Basketball Club is delighted to announce a new partnership with West Midlands Railway (WMR) for the 2026/27 season.

This collaboration brings together two organisations committed to powering the West Midlands community. WMR joins as the club’s Official Rail Partner, connecting young people, students, and sports fans across the region while encouraging sustainable travel to Rockets home games at Nechells Wellbeing Centre.

Connecting Communities & Inspiring Young People

Through this partnership, WMR will work alongside the Rockets to support local communities and engage students across the region. This includes direct outreach during Open Days, Induction, and Freshers Week at BMet College and other partner institutions, promoting WMR’s Student Season Tickets alongside youth basketball opportunities.

What the Partnership Entails

Fans, students and community members can look forward to a range of exciting initiatives throughout the 2026/27 season:

  • Sustainable Matchday Travel: WMR will feature prominently across the Rockets digital platforms, including a dedicated “Plan Your Game Night Travel” section on the club website to encourage fans to travel sustainably via WMR’s trains.
  • Exclusive Giveaways & VIP Experiences: WMR passengers and Rockets fans will have access to exclusive ticket competitions, including VIP matchday experiences and train travel prizes.
  • Community Support: WMR is providing complimentary train passes to help Rockets players and academy students access opportunities and travel seamlessly across the region.
  • Courtside & Digital Branding: WMR will appear across home game matchday communications, digital newsletters, match programmes, courtside advertising and collaborative social content featuring First Team players.
