Weekend Preview: Senior Men Face Double Header Whilst Senior Women Begin Season at Home

Our Senior Men’s First Team make the journey to Cheshire tomorrow afternoon as they continue their league campaign against University of Chester, tip-off 6pm.

Following last Saturday’s disappointment in our league opener, Coach Douglas’ side will be looking to bounce back and record our first league points on Saturday afternoon.

The game will be held at the University of Chester Sports Hall, Exton Park Campus, CH1 4BJ. Spectators are welcome but are encouraged to social distance and wear face coverings if possible.

The game serves not only as an opportunity for our Senior Men’s First Team to overcome the disappointment of last Saturday, but also as a prelude to our highly anticipated rematch against Team Birmingham Elite in National Cup action on Sunday.

City of Birmingham Rockets Senior Men’s First Team vs Team Birmingham Elite

We face off against cross city rivals Team Birmingham Elite for the second time this season in cup action on Sunday afternoon, tip-off 4:30pm.

Having fallen to a 68-59 league defeat against the same opposition last weekend, we will be looking to avenge last Saturday’s disappointment and in doing so progress to the next round of the cup in what is set to be a fiercely competitive fixture.

City of Birmingham Rockets Senior Women’s First Team vs Derbyshire Diamonds

There will be action at Nechells Wellbeing Centre on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend as our Senior Women’s First Team begin their league season at home to Derbyshire Diamonds in their inaugural Division 2 North campaign.

Having finished second in the curtailed 2019/20 season to Worcester Wolves, Derbyshire will undoubtedly pose a significant challenge to our Rockets, who will be looking to make an impact in their first season at this level.

Entry is free of charge with a 4:20pm tip-off, so come down and support our women for what is set to be an intriguing contest against an established Diamonds outfit.
