City of Birmingham Rockets Basketball Club are delighted to announce the addition of Portuguese guard Catarina Seixas to our Women’s First Team roster for the 2022/23 season!
Catarina won the Player’s Player of the Year award at Coventry Flames last season and will add a potent shooting threat to Coach Ryan Emery’s side.
After coming through the ranks at Sport Lisboa e Benfica in her native Portugal, Catarina went on to represent the Eagles for the following nine seasons before moving to the UK to attend Coventry University.
It was here that Catarina joined up with Coventry Flames, helping the team gain promotion to BUCS Division One whilst also winning the BUCS West Midlands Conference Cup.
Speaking ahead of her unveiling, Catarina said, “I’m really looking forward to the season, I’m very excited to be part of the club and I’m hoping to play a key role in achieving our goals for the season!
“I think we have very good players and a lot of potential!”
Coach Ryan Emery expressed his excitement at the addition of Catarina and said, “I’m incredibly excited to be able to bring in a player of Catartina’s pedigree.
“She is an exceptional shooter and wants to get better every day. She will be a great addition to our squad!”
